The Inspiration Behind Cyber Tag Days Cindy has been involved in Tag Days since the first drive in 1994 after her mother was diagnosed with ALS. As longtime captain of the Lincoln Park Drive, Cindy and her daughter, Lindsay, were looking for a creative way to reach more community members in 2016 when they added an online donation option for their drive. Their "Cyber Drive" significantly increased their donations and raised almost $6,000. Inspired by their success, the Foundation has created Cyber Tag Days Drives—the online version of Tag Days without the hassle of permitting or pocket change. Simply register your community with the Foundation to receive a donation web link that you can email to your network and/or post on social media for contributions. Participate in Cyber Tag Days>>

YPG Member Spotlight: Josh When his older brother Eric was diagnosed with ALS at age 29, Josh immediately sought an outlet for support. Once Eric began receiving treatment at the Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at the Les Turner ALS Foundation Research and Patient Care Center at Northwestern Medicine in 2013, Josh discovered the ultimate support network: The Foundation's Young ProfessionALS Group (YPG), in which he remains involved in today. From casino nights to pub crawls, YPG provides Josh the opportunity to engage with other young professionals impacted by ALS while raising funds and awareness about the Foundation and its mission. “The YPG events are always a blast and giving back to the Foundation that has provided such necessary support to my family is an honor.” Learn about the Young ProfessionALS Group>>

A Wedding of Hope and Help Taylor and her fiancé Cory knew that on their wedding day they wanted to contribute to causes dear to their hearts. Taylor’s grandmother, Harriett, passed away from ALS in 2011. Keeping her grandmother's memory alive, Taylor became involved with the Les Turner ALS Foundation. Instead of receiving traditional registry gifts from their 400 prospective wedding guests, the couple decided to create a charity registry for family and friends to donate to the Foundation. Taylor and Cory look forward to beginning their new life together while honoring those like Harriet, who fought or continue to fight ALS. "While I wish she could have met Cory and be here for our wedding, I am so excited to honor her in this way and look forward to a future in which other families won't have to feel the loss that ALS brought to our family."
